Gia Frino is a filmmaker, and Content Producer for Uber ANZ, she has been working in the entertainment industry since 1996. Gia has devoted herself to film since 2014, after working on some successful short films like ‘The Noose’ and ‘Slingshot’ her passion for film was confirmed. Gia has successfully obtained her Advanced Diploma in Screen and Media from TAFE NSW as well as an Advanced Diploma in Screenwriting from AFTRS. She is currently studying Graduate Certificate in Creative Producing at AFTRS. She also has management and business management qualifications.
One of Gia’s main goals is to focus on women in film, she has already made progressive steps in this direction by mainly working with female cast and crew and founding The Wollongong Film Festival. Gia will further try to accomplish this by giving a voice to fantastic, strong and independent female characters and by creating an equal workplace for all.
The Wollongong Film Festival was created by Gia as part of her One Girl Ambassadorship, as festival director Gia is very happy with the contribution the WFF has made to women in film and the One Girl foundation.
Gia is currently producing a few short films as well as writing her first TV series The Deputy. Gia Frino resides in Wollongong, NSW.
